iPhone to get 3rd party Applications

Steve Jobs mentioned yesterday in an interview with Walt Mossberg, that the iPhone may in the future have the ability to run 3^rd party applications.

This seems like a smart move by Apple, because if they limit the functionality and compatibility of the iPhone, to run 3^rd party applications, it could end up being as user friendly as the Apple TV
