Energy Saving Just Got Stylish

July 6, 2007

Check out this Energy Saving Adapter Concept from designer Gilles Belley.

The Energy Saving Adapter uses a modular system of plus, which are linked together to form a power strip.

Each module responds to each individual device and monitors the power being used independently. The Energy Saving Adapter can tell which device is wasting energy in standby mode and then displays symbols to notify the owner of the wasted energy.

If someone doesn’t respond within three minutes, the Energy Saving Adapter automatically turns of that particular device.

With standby power usage taking up as much as 10% of today’s power usage, this could be an ideal solution.
