Microsoft has acknowledged that there has been a more than acceptable failure rate on Xbox 360′s especially with the dreaded ‘red ring of death’ which has hit a number of the consoles.

Peter Moore, Corporate Vice President of the Entertainment and Devices Division of Microsoft said that they are sorry for anyone who has suffered the problems.

‘We haven’t done right by our customers, and for that I apologize,” he told GameSpot. “We listened, and we’re going to make it right.” In an in-depth interview with GameSpot, Moore outlined the new warranty, and emphasized it would be “global” in nature.

This is a smart move by Microsoft, even though it will cost them a reported $1 billion , had they not done this, these Xbox 360 problems could have deterred future buyers from purchasing the popular console.
