Apple hits back at unathorised iPhone resellers, but is it legal ?

October 28, 2007

Apple has removed the option to buy your iPhone with cash.

All purchases must now be made with either a credit or debit card, and the purchase of the iPhone is now limited to two per customer.

This has come into effect in the US and will apply to the UK as well when the iPhone is launched over here on the 9th of November.

I wonder if this is actually legal, I would be interested to see what the UK trading standards has to say about this, as this is restricting the purchase of a product to a specific method of purchase and refusing to take a countries legal tender for it surely can’t be legal.

What about those people who don’t use debit or credit cards and want an iPhone?
