Toshiba’s new 22 Inch LCD Monitor with a massive 3,840 x 2,400 resolution

Toshiba has released details of a new 22 inch LCD monitor, which features a massive resolution of 3,840 x 2,400.

This new LCD will have a WQUXGA display and 300:1 contrast, and you will need a dedicated dual channel graphics card to get that resolution.

It will go on sale in Japan next year for a massive $17,500 (about £8,750), and if you want to make use of the hughe resolution, Toshiba will kindly sell you the PCI graphics card you need for $2,750 (about £1325).

So for just over $20,000 you can get an massive 3,840 x 2,400 resolution on this new 22 inch LCD, don’t forget to add about $200 for a pair of binoculars so you can see your icons.

    That is just insanely silly. Reviews state how silly it is with a 30″ having a resolution that requires dual graphic cards and all the problems that go along with that, but to have that on a 22″ LCD? What the hell were they thinking? And for that price, it better look a hell of a lot fancier than the LCD in the picture there, because that one is butt-ugly.

    I tend to agree, The resolution sounds great but on a 22 inch screen it is pointless, and for that money you could buy some serious kit instead.

    Thirded. That’s insane resolution for a 32 much less a 22. As insinuated in the article, anything on the screen would be so small you’d go blind looking at it. Might be good for some applications, but as a primary monitor on a home.office machine, nope.

    Monitors like these are usually for extremely specialized tasks. Many hospitals use ultra hi res monitors like these to view CT and MRI images where hi res is necessary for properly analyzing images.
