Caracol one handed keyboard

March 31, 2008 at 8:45 pm

Check out the Caracol one handed keyboard concept, its a computer keyboard that absolutely rubbishes all convention and takes to an entirely new approach to simplify typing. You can type blindingly fast and all that just with one hand. For this, Caracol, uses a rotary keyboard on a wheel through which you slip your palm. The keyboard or rather, keywheel rests on a nice and comfortable, ergonomic pad very similar to the mousepad on which you rest the heel of your palm. The loop has a 5:1 gearbox which enables it to rotate even with a small movement of the palm.

March 30, 2008 at 8:56 pm

The iPhone Dev Team strikes at Apple’s core with the Pwnage tool. The PWN, which is publicaly available later today, Sunday March 30th, allows you to flash custom unsigned firmware onto the iPhone or iPod touch. Essentially it is to be the iPhone hack to end all iPhone hacks, or something totally opposite of that. This single hack is supposed to make the iPhone so easy to hack, and all subsequent firmware updates so easy to crack, that the iPhone Dev Team will finally be able to get back to doing what they enjoy instead of constantly having to hack the latest firmware.

Sega’s Lindbergh Cabinet DIY Style

March 29, 2008 at 9:30 am

Check out this awesome gaming cabinet created by VFDS poster L_A_Akira who recently visited Japan and liked Sega’s Lindbergh cabinet so much he built his own.

Sega’s Lindbergh cabinet

A few months ago when I was in japan I realized that I liked the style and shape of the Lindbergh cabinet so much that I was considering importing one and trying to hook it up to a pc, xbox and ps3. I did some research and it basically boiled down to being a bad idea due to a few reasons…
1. Compatibility issues between the lindberghs JVS monitors and JAMMA/component/HDMI.
2. Unit and shipping cost.
3. Lack of ventalation if I decided to put a PC and consoles inside the cabinet.
