LG Decoy

June 2, 2008

Listen up, slide-phone fans. After a delay, LG is finally releasing its “Decoy.” The LG Decoy VX610 slide phone will most likely replace the VX8550 Chocolate.

New features include four standard buttons (instead of the touch sensitive buttons) that surround a new trackball d-pad, similar to the one used in Blackberry devices. The slide feature works just like the previous models. Turn the phone over, however, and you see its most unique and handy feature – a removable Bluetooth earpiece.

Other features include a QVGA display, 2 megapixel camera, microSD card slot, and a microUSB port. It also has a video player, MP3 player self timer, and mirror.

The official launch date is June 16. Suggested retail is $179 with a two-year contract, and $249 with a one-year contract. Both prices are after the $50 rebate. Full retail is $349.
