The media chair with built in surround sound was created for music lovers.  Martin Emilia, an industrial designer, designed the Media Chair.  The chair isn’t much different from similar media-enhanced chairs that are currently on the market, but the chair has a very unique design.  The speakers that are concentrated at the head makes the chair unique.

The media chair is designed to make a person feel as if they are being immersed in music.  The speakers are at a place that will allow a person to relax comfortably without sacrificing the audibility of the music.  The headrest has a 3-way speaker that produces surround sound.  The arm of the chair is designed so that an iPod can be integrated into the chair.

The chair has a soft foam seat covered with leather or other fabric and is made out of hard plastic.  The chair does look like a novelty.  It will probably be popular among those that love modern, contemporary furniture and music.

The media chair isn’t available yet.  It is still a concept, however, it probably won’t be long before it will see its place in many homes.
