Intel announces Extreme mobile CPU
Intel have announced the core 2 Extreme X7800, its first Extreme Laptop CPU.

This new 2.6GHz dual-core processor features 4MB of L2 cache, and an 800MHz FSB, making it the highest end chip in Intel’s mobile range.
Intel have removed their overspeed protection from this chip meaning that the chip is able to be overclocked, this should interest gamers.
Intel claims the Core 2 Extreme X7800 has a 28 percent performance increase over the previous chips.
The new chip should be out in a couple weeks and will cost around $851.

High end gaming on your laptop ? Maybe in 2008

Intel has announced that it will be bringing out quad core laptops in 2008.
The new chip should provide a significant improvement in laptop performance, and could even bring high end gaming to laptops, something which has eluded both Intel and Amd to date, as current high end laptops don’t quite cut it when it comes to gaming.
If Intel are able to bring high end gaming to the laptop with this new quad core chip, it is bound to be a huge hit with gamers accross the world.

The World’s thinnest laptop?

Intel’s new Mobile Metro Notebook, is just 0.7 inches thick, and weighs just 2.25lbs.
The laptop is a joint venture with Ziba Design, and is expected to have a battery life of 14 hours, that’s pretty impressive for such a slim design.
There is the possibility it will feature dual displays and always-on Internet connectivity via wireless. It is expected that Intel will announce when this gorgeous laptop is going into the production by the end of the year.
