Wii Air Drum Kit

February 11, 2008 at 11:30 am

Fancy playing the air drums with your Wii controllers? Download the Wii Drum Kit. The latest version adds support for the Nunchuck, so you can use both hands to play your virtual drum kit. This one is a Windows application, and source is available at the This is Not a Label blog. Different gestures are used to trigger a specific drum, so the high hat is a flick to the side, the snare is a forward hit, etc. There’s no kick pedal, of course, but the fist stamping motion that’s used is a reasonable alternative.

It was created for Kevin Smith, by the guys over at morpheon mods.

The Wii was painted using flat gray scale colors to match the black and white clerks characters. The stand features the main characters each back-lit with two “stage lights” that beam up to highlight the custom 3D Clerks logo. The opposite side has a specially back-lit logo of his production company. Finally, the controllers were painstakingly hand painted letter by letter to feature his name one controller and his most famous alter ego on the second.
