Personal Force Field Suit

January 14, 2008 at 9:15 am

By weaving conductive filaments into fabric Frog Vision’s (strategic creative consultancy) concept clothing can provide power to gadgets by just slipping the devices into pockets. By wearing the clothes you will instantly start generating electricity and with micro generators embedded into the seams all your movements with be converted into power. Your suit can discharge its power at any time, creating a shell of electricity and forming a personal forcefield to keep you safe down darkened alleyways. The electrical forcefield has the power to stun an attacker, and the intelligent fabric can even tell when you’re nervous, monitoring heart rate and anxiety levels so it automatically knows when to power-up its protection system.

Solio H1000 Hybrid Solar Charger - Review

December 8, 2007 at 1:21 pm

I received a Solio Hybrid H1000 solar charger in the post recently so I thought it was about time to test this gadget out.

solio h1000 hybrid charger

The Solio H1000 Hybrid charger is a dual powered mobile charged for mobile phone’s PDA’s and other small gadgets.

It comes with a bunch of connections, including a mini USB, a female USB connections for iPod’s, iPhone’s and other MP3 players, as well as connectors for the majority of mobile phones

Out of the box it comes fully charged, so you are ready to plug it in and charge your devices.

I tested it on my iPhone and it seems to work pretty well and delivers a decent charge to the iPhone.

There are two way you can charge this portable gadget, the first is by plugging it into your PC, I charged it a few days ago and then left it to see how long it would hold the charge, it works well and holds the charge.

The other way is by solar power, this doesn’t work as well, mind you this could be down to the weather conditions here at the moment, no sun and lots of rain.

Overall the Solio H1000 is a great solution if you want to charge a variety of gadgets when you are out and about, even if you just charge it by the USB on your PC it is a great backup power source.

The Solio H1000 Hybrid Charger retails for $79.95 (about £40) and is available to buy online from Amazon.
