Dell Mini Inspiron
Dell’s 9-inch ultraportable has now got a name and a vague release date. Called the Mini Inspiron and due out sometime in August, Dell has been tight lipped about features, specs, and pricing. But if past relationships with Microsoft are any indication, the Mini will almost certainly be paired with XP and an Atom processor. Ubuntu may also be a possibility, especially given the trends in the mini-market as of late.

Google Teams with Dell to Topple iPhone
There is talk of Google & Dell teaming up to take on the Apple iPhone. The two biggest dogs in their respective yards, could pool together their resources and may just may have enough musclepower to topple the iPhone behemoth. Neither Google nor Dell are confirming (or denying) these rumors, so this is reduced to just rumblings on the Interweb at this point. Dell has dabbled in the PDA market before, so it’s only a short leap to arrive in smartphone territory. Current word has the Google-Dell hybrid making some of announcement at the 3GSM World Conference in Barcelona next month. We will keep you posted.

Lenovo To Launch Linux Powered Laptops
Lenovo, one of the worlds biggest PC manufacturers will start selling laptops to its business customers with Linux pre-installed.

These Lenovo Thinkpad laptops will come with the SUSE Linux version of Linux, following in the footsteps of other PC manufacturers like Dell.
Linux was first released to the public almost 16 years ago and was developed by Linus Torvalds, who wanted to create a non-commercial alternative to an operating system used in many universities.
Linux can be freely distributed, modified and used by anyone who wants it. It is predominantly used to power web servers and while its growth on desktop computers has been limited to technology specialists, its adoption by Lenovo and Dell points to wider acceptance.
