The most advanced digital jukebox on the planet?

May 21, 2007 at 5:19 pm

gadgets, technology

Is DVICO’s TViX M-5100SH the most advanced digital media server available today?

With HDMI output, and a high speed SATA drive, it can play a multitude of video formats including H.264 at up to 1080p, and an optional TViX tuner, with DVR capability, and full 5.1 surround sound playback.

You can store all your MP3 files, together with a large variety of other music formats for instant playback. It also has the option of letting you display you digital photos on a HDTV in a customisable slideshow, with background music of your choice.

For around £300, without a hard drive or about £380.00 with a 250GB SATA hard drive, there is the option to upgrade this to a 1024GB hard drive.

It has 2 USB ports which enable to transfer your files directly from you iPod, or MP3 player and other external USB devices without the need for a PC.

There is also the option of network connectivity, enabling you to share files across your network direct from you PC.

The TViX M-5100SH is a pretty good solution as a media server, without the need for a full media centre PC.

I will be keeping an eye on DVICO to see what the come up with next.
