Dell Mini Inspiron
Dell’s 9-inch ultraportable has now got a name and a vague release date. Called the Mini Inspiron and due out sometime in August, Dell has been tight lipped about features, specs, and pricing. But if past relationships with Microsoft are any indication, the Mini will almost certainly be paired with XP and an Atom processor. Ubuntu may also be a possibility, especially given the trends in the mini-market as of late.

Standard HDD Versus Solid State Drive - Video
Check out this video comparison on a Sony laptop between a standard HDD and a Solid State Hard Drive.
The Notebook used is a Sony Tz91 which comes with the option to have a solid state hard drive as your main drive.
The other laptop uses a standard 5400 rpm hard drive, both laptops are running Windows XP, and the one with the solid state drive boots up 12 seconds faster.
This is a pretty amazing difference, there is just one problem, adding a 64GB solid state drive to this laptop will cost you an extra $1,000 (about £500).
As with everything as solid state drives become more popular the price is going to fall, I wonder how much they will cost in a year from now.
