iRivers Lplayer features a wide colorful 2-inch 320X240 QVGA TFT LCD screen and built-in digital FM tuner, integrated voice recorder and iriver’s unique D-click control system, which allows users to navigate the device by pressing on the outer edges of the screen.

 

Lplayer can support wide variety of file formats, including MPEG4, WMV9, XVID, MP3, WMA, ASF, OGG, FLAC, JPEG, BMP, PNG, GIF and txt.

Archos have announced Archos TV+, a new digital PVR.

The Archos TV+ is a WiFi digital video recorder, an comes in either a 80GB or a 250GB version.

It will stream content direct from your PC or PMP and also download content from the Archos Content channel.

It also features a built in web browser and email support.

The 80GB version will retail for $229 and the 250GB version will retail for $349.

This is going to be serious competition for Apple TV, as the Archos TV+ will have no restriction on the types of media files you can play through it.

iRiver has updated its Clix PMP player to the Clix+

This new version comes with a DMB tuner, and a choice of additional new colours, pink and purple.

The new iRiver Clix+ will come in 4GB and 8GB versions and will go on sale next year for about $235 (about £118) for the 4GB version and about $300 (about £150) for the 8GB version.

TurboLinux has added online storage capabilities to its combination PMP and personal Linux boot device.

The Wizpy will soon gain support for network-based file storage, due to a deal with third-party storage service provider Omnidrive.

The Wizpy supports DivX-, MP3-, Ogg-, AAC-, and JPEG-compatible and has a 1.7 inch OLED screen, it also doubles as a USB boot device pre-loaded with TurboLinux.

TurboLinux said its collaboration with Omnidrive will enable Wizpy users to:

  •  Access their files from anywhere
  • Download files to the Wizpy to work offline
  • Easily share and publish large multimedia files, such as photos and/or video files

The Omnidrive service for Wizpy is available now, according to TurboLinux, but no pricing details have been made available yet.

SanDisk released details of the Sansa View earlier in the year, then they decided it wasn’t such a good idea and cancelled the product.

Well they have had a change of heart, done a bit of work with the Sansa View and they are launching the all new Sansa View PMP.

The new player is smaller, with 16GB (an 8GB version is coming later) of storage and it has a 2.4 inch screen with a resolution of 320 x 240.

There is also support for MP3, WMA, WMV MPEG4, WMV and h.264, and it features a built in FM tuner and voice recorder.

The battery will give you 30 hours of audio or up to 6 hours of video and should go on sale some time next month.

The 16GB version will retails for a reasonable $199 (about £100) and the 8GB version will retail for $149 (about £75).

This new player comes in either a 4GB or 8GB version and features a 1.8 inch QVGA KCD screen.

It will play MP3, WMA, AAC music files and MPEG-4 Video files and it also features a built in FM tuner.

It will retail for about $160 (about £80) for the 4GB version and about $210 (about £105) for the 8GB version and will come in four colours, black, silver, red and pink and is due to go on sale in September.
