New XDA Orbit 2 Smartphone with GPS
O2 has unveiled its new XDA Orbit 2 smartphone, which runs Windows Mobile 6 and comes with built-in GPS and the CoPilot Live 7 satnav software preloaded. It has a 2.8-inch touchscreen, 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, and works with Microsoft’s Direct Push Email technology for BlackBerry-esque email-bothering on the move. More consumer-friendly features include a three-megapixel camera, FM radio and MP3-playing capabilities.

O2 promises up to 450 hours of standby time and up to seven hours of talktime. The Orbit 2 is available now in the UK, with the price varying according to tariff. If you’re a business user, you can opt for a CoPilot Live-free version.

i-SOBOT Humanoid Robot
i-SOBOT’s sophisticated Japanese robotic technology includes 19 integrated-circuit chips, a gyro sensor (for balance) and 17 custom-developed servo-motors that grace i-SOBOT with 17 degrees of freedom and more than 200 distinct actions. You can control i-SOBOT’s actions via a wireless infrared remote and command buttons for kicks, punches, somersaults, dancing, push-ups, you name it. He also responds to voice commands in logical — but unpredictable — ways. You can program long, elaborate sequences of actions that can be saved for later performances; additionally, there are also dozens of preprogrammed actions to call on and hundreds of preset phrases and 60 kinds of sound effects with two LED eyes that glow bright green and blue.

Mind Chair uses sensory technology to transmit moving imagery to the brain
The Mind Chair is a standard polypropylene chair is fitted with an electronic unit that relays video imagery as dynamic pixelated physical information onto the back of the sitter. The effect is for the viewer to visualise clear and high definition moving image in their mind.



Designed by London designers Peter Marigold and Beta Tank. The chair was commissioned for the forthcoming Design and the Elastic Mind exhibition at MoMA in New York.

Sports Car turns into a boat at the touch of a button
The Rinspeed Splash unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show can reach 125mph on the road and accelerates to 60mph in 5.9 seconds and its performance on water is impressive too, reaching an impressive 45 knots, fast enough for water skiing or knee boarding. The secret of the car is hydrofoil, a nautical technology used to lift the hull of boats from the water to increase speed and the cars body is watertight and special buoyancy chambers provide extra lift.

Atomic the Austrian ski manufacturer is set to revolutionise ski manufacture with their new D2 Doubldeck technology, being two seperate skis on top of each other they are capable of automatic adjustments according to the skier’s skiing style and snow condition. Atomic D2 combines an excellent balance of stiffness and turning radius, which are the most important parameter of skiing. Soft bottom of lower ski provides constant contact with the snow, while the upper ski is responsible for handling.

The higher the mercury goes, the faster the LED will blink.

Logitech DiNovo Mini Palm Keyboard for TV’s PC Systems
